Dr Glen Schlaphoff
-
Dr Glen Schlaphoff is an experienced Interventional Radiologist and has been a Senior Staff Specialist in Liverpool Hospital since 2001.
He has been the HOD of Radiology since 2005 to 2015 and involved with the redevelopment of Liverpool Hospital.
During this redevelopment, he was involved in redesigning the Radiology department and pioneered the concept of the creation of a Department of Interventional Radiology.
He is currently the Head of Department of Interventional Radiology at Liverpool Hospital.
He is a founder partner of Spectrum Medical Imaging, a large high end, sub-specialist private radiology practice with multiple branches in the East and West of Sydney.
He attends and presents at many local and international meetings and is an active IRSA member (Interventional Society of Australasia).
His particular interests are in interventional radiology, with particular interests in vascular and cardiovascular imaging, pain relief and spinal injections including vertebroplasty.
He is also keenly involved in all aspects of interventional and diagnostic oncology offering a wide range of therapies and interventions to oncology patients – especially those with liver disease, including DC Beads SIRTEX, microwave and Radio-frequency Ablation.
He is a pioneer in Australia in Prostate Artery Embolisation and Cryotherapy for Renal Cancers. He is an active contributor to the many multidisciplinary meetings held at Liverpool Hospital.
He consults out of the Spectrum IR consulting Suites at Sydney Southwest Private Hospital.

Dr Schlaphoff has a wide range of expertise encompassing all aspects of IR.
Some particularly notable areas of deep subspecialty expertise include spine interventions including injections, RFA, discograms, vertebroplasty.
Cryoablation of tumours including renal and hepatic tumours. Dr Schlaphoff performed the first MRI guided in-bore cryoablation in Australia in 2025.
Prostate artery embolisation as one of the pioneers of the procedure in Australia.
Treatment of complex soft tissue tumours including desmoids, endometriomas, FAVAs and AVMs. Embolisation of aortic endoleaks post EVAR.
Dr Jules Catt

Dr Jules Catt is an Interventional Radiologist at Liverpool and Prince of Wales Public Hospitals and various private hospitals across Sydney.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology and certified by the European Board of Interventional Radiology.
He specialises in minimally invasive image-guided procedures and endovascular treatment and has a particular interest in the fields of venous disease, interventional oncology and embolisation therapies.
Significant areas of practice include woman's health conditions such as pelvic pain and pelvic congestion syndrome.He specialises in the treatment of pelvic congestion syndrome and other venous disorders through minimally invasive endovascular treatment options.
He is an Australian leader in prostate artery embolisation and together with Dr Glen Schlaphoff has developed one of the largest PAE case series in the Asia-Pacific region.
He is helping to advance this important field through his work as a prostate artery embolisation proctor and academic lecturer and as co-host of the Interventional Radiology Society of Australia PAE Workshop. Other important men's health areas of specialisation include varicocele treatment for symptomatic patients or men with fertility issues.
He is a passionate advocate for patients and the wider healthcare system. Beyond medical specialisation, his training includes a Masters in Public Health from Sydney University and the Graduate Program on Global Policy and Governance at Duke University in the United States.
He is experienced in national health policy and has been a Director and Councillor of the Australian Medical Council and worked with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists as Faculty Councillor and various educational committees over many years.
He is currently a member of the Panel of Clinical Experts advising the Ministry of Health on the medical prosthesis list.

Dr Catt is highly skilled in all aspects of endovascular artery and venous intervention.
He is an expert in prostate artery embolisation having performed over 100 procedures.
He has particular expertise in all venous interventions including varicocele and pelvic congestion embolisation, and treatment of varicose veins.
He is an expert in complex portal and pulmonary venous interventions, as the clinical lead in TIPS and portal vein embolisation.
He also helped set up the pulmonary embolism thrombectomy service at Liverpool Hospital and is a key member in the evolving area of acute PE management.
He is a well regarded expert in renal interventions including endovascular dialysis fistula creation, renal (and mesenteric artery) stenting, complex vascath insertion, central venous recanalisation and renal tumour cryoablation.
He also treats superficial venous disease as part of Spectrum Veins.
Dr Yehia El Hgar

Dr Yehia El Hgar is an Interventional Radiologist at Liverpool and Sydney South West Private Hospitals in Sydney. He has completed a Fellowship in Interventional Radiology at Vancouver General and UBC Hospitals in Vancouver, Canada, after medical school and radiology training in Sydney. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists.
Dr El Hgar specialises in minimally invasive image-guided procedures, and has an interest in diagnostic and interventional oncology, and the advancement of radial artery access within the rapidly developing field of Interventional Radiology. He is also especially interested in embolization procedures including varicose veins, varicocele/ovarian vein embolization and prostate artery embolization.
He holds a Conjoint Lecturer appointment at the Medical School of The University of New South Wales, and regularly attends and presents at both local and international symposiums. He has a strong interest in research. He is a strong advocate of engagement and education, and as such regularly co-ordinates educational sessions for medical students, junior doctors and radiologists in training.

Dr El Hgar is a world expert in transradial access for arterial interventions. He has previously helped run the ThinkRadial course in Australia.
He has further subspecialty expertise in genicular artery embolisation, leading a randomised control trial in this field.
Other areas of interest are interventional oncology with particular focus on the management of HCC. He is the clinical lead for SIRTEX at Liverpool Hospital and also performs microwave ablation, cryoablation and TACE to liver tumours.
He is also the clinical lead for the percutaneous lung ablation program at Liverpool Hospital.
Dr Hao Xiang

Dr Xiang completed his MBBS (Hons II) at UNSW in 2011, winning the GR Cameron Prize for pathology. Following this he completed internship and residency at Nepean Hospital before being accepted into radiology training at Concord Hospital. During his radiology training he served as the trainee representative for NSW for two consecutive years, and was a member of the research committee with RANZCR.
After obtaining his FRANZCR in 2019, he undertook an interventional radiology fellowship in Vancouver, Canada under the University of British Columbia from 2019 to 2020. He has completed the EBIR with distinction, an award given to the top two candidates world wide each year.
Dr Xiang currently holds public interventional radiology appointments at Liverpool Hospital and Concord Hospital. He is also appointed at Sydney Southwest Private Hospital.

Dr Xiang is an expert at cryoablation both for curative intent, palliation, and the control of complex pain. Key organs treated include the kidneys, liver and lungs. He co-runs the cryoablation workshops at Liverpool Hospital and is a proctor for cryoablation in Australia.
He is also interested in other aspects of chronic pain management including complex nerve blocks, neurolysis with phenol or ethanol, pulsed RFA (neuromodulation), thermal RFA and cryoneurolysis. Areas treated with these techniques include the knee (genicular nerve), shoulder (suprascapular nerve), face (trigeminal nerve) among others.
He also performs a wide range of endovascular procedures including prostate artery embolisation, varicocele embolisation, TACE and SIRTEX.
He remains a keen diagnostic radiologist with interests in integrating the latest 4D CT, dual energy (spectral) CT and MRI techniques into vascular imaging. He is the clinical lead in 4D aortic imaging at Spectrum.
Dr Shady Osman

Dr Shady Osman is an Interventional Radiologist at Liverpool Hospital, Sutherland Hospital, Hurstville Private and Sydney South West Private Hospital in Sydney.
He graduated from Medicine at Auckland University in 2012 and became a fellow of the Royal Australia and New Zealand college of Radiologist in 2019. He spent 2019 undertaking advanced training in General MRI and Interventional Radiology in Auckland, New Zealand. Following this he obtained a further Interventional Radiology fellowship training at Liverpool Hospital in Sydney. In 2020 he obtained his European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR) qualifications.
He is currently the clinical lead for interventional radiology at Sutherland Hospital. He is the previous co-director of training at Liverpool Hospital.

Dr Osman specialises in minimally invasive image-guided procedures and has an interest in Diagnostic (MRI liver and prostate) and Interventional oncology.
He is also especially interested in embolisation procedures including venous disease, hepatobiliary oncology and pain management.
He is currently at the forefront of introducing Haemorrhoid Artery Embolisation (HAE) in Australia, running the successful HAE workshop series after being trained in the procedure from experts worldwide.
Dr Bryan Barry

Dr Bryan Barry is an Interventional and breast radiologist who currently holds positions at Liverpool Hospital, Sutherland Hospital, Hurstville Private Hospital and Sydney South West Private Hospital. He is a member of The Interventional Radiology Society of Australasia (IRSA) and on the Interventional Oncology Special Interest Group.
He studied at University College Dublin and completed an IR fellowship with Guys and St Thomas’ Trust, London in 2017. He also completed a Breast fellowship in 2016 with BreastScreen NSW. He has worked at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, St Vincents Hospital and with BreastScreen NSW.
Dr Barry is a proud member of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) and obtained his European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR) in 2023.

Dr Barry has special Interests in men’s and women’s health procedures, Interventional oncology, particularly hepatobiliary intervention and embolotherapy.
He is the clinical lead in women’s IR with a keen interest in uterine artery embolisation and ovarian vein embolisation. He is also a qualified breast radiologist with expertise in breast cancer diagnosis.
He is a member of the Spectrum Veins team treating peripheral venous disease.
He has pioneered endovascular dialysis AVF creation with Dr Catt and the two are among the first in Australia to offer this procedure.
Diagnostic interests are vascular imaging and MRI particularly prostate, breast and hepatobiliary.
Dr Chandra Annabattula

Dr Annabattula is an Interventional and Diagnostic Radiologist practicing primarily at Spectrum Radiology, Liverpool Hospital and Nepean/ Blue Mountains Hospitals.
He received his Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology (FRANZCR) in 2018. He further trained in Interventional Radiology at Liverpool Hospital in 2019 and is currently working towards obtaining his European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR) qualifications.
He continues to serve his medical community through his ongoing work in medical education and research. Dr Annabattula is a conjoint lecturer at UNSW and has presented a number of research projects at major national and international conferences in an effort to further the field of interventional radiology.

Dr Annabattula specialises in minimally invasive image-guided procedures and endovascular treatment.
He is passionate about the fields of interventional oncology, venous disease and embolisation therapies.
In particular, he is experienced in the incredible power of minimally invasive ablative therapies such as cryoablation, microwave ablation, and radiofrequency techniques.
He is a clinical lead in pain interventions with Spectrum IR. He has particular expertise in the treatment of Morton’s neuroma with cryoablation, a promising new technique with excellent outcomes.
He is also an expert in PRP injections for joint pain, along with complex nerve blocks and neurolysis procedures.
Dr Ryan Rudolph

Dr Ryan Rudolph is a board certified Interventional Radiologist.
He is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists, a member of the Interventional Radiology Society of Australasia, and holder of the European Board of Interventional Radiology.
Dr Rudolph works at Prince of Wales Hospital, Liverpool Hospital and Spectrum Medical Imaging, a private radiology practice. He regularly gives presentations at local and national Interventional and Diagnostic Radiology meetings.

Dr Ross Copping

Dr Ross Copping is a highly trained interventional radiologist. He completed radiology training at John Hunter Hospital including a rotation in the interventional radiology department at Royal North Shore Hospital. Following this he completed a 1 year interventional radiology fellowship at Liverpool Hospital, before completing a further 1 year interventional radiology fellowship in Toronto Canada. Currently Dr Copping holds appointments at Liverpool Hospital, Sydney Southwest Private hospital and works in Spectrum Interventional Radiology.

Dr Copping is highly skilled in advanced interventions including SIRTEX for the treatment of primary and metastatic liver lesions, endocrine venous sampling, musculoskeletal interventions including genicular artery embolisation ± block and RFA. He is also the clinical lead for the Spyglass program at Liverpool Hospital and the head of research in the Liverpool and Spectrum IR groups.
Dr Ben Reidy

Dr Reidy graduated from the University of Sydney. He subsequently completed radiology training obtaining a FRANZCR before underdoing an interventional radiology fellowship at Liverpool Hospital. He holds appointments at Liverpool and Royal North Shore hospitals. He has worked as an IR since 2014.

Dr Hannah Ireland

Dr Hannah Ireland graduated from Univeristy of Notre Dame Fremantle and moved into radiology speciality training at Nepean and Royal North Shore Hospitals.
Hannah achieved RANZCR fellowship in 2022. Hannah completed a breast radiology fellowship at Royal North Shore Hospital and Breast Screen Australia and an interventional radiology fellowship at Liverpool Public Hospital.

Hannah’s diagnostic interests are broad and include women’s imaging including breast radiology and placental and foetal MRI. Hannah performs a broad range of interventional radiology procedures including pulmonary embolus large bore thrombectomy, treatment of varicose veins, venous stenting, cyroablation, uterine fibroid embolisation and pain procedures.
Dr Anthony Logaraj

Dr Anthony Logaraj is an Interventional Radiologist at Liverpool Hospital with VMO appointments at Royal North Shore Hospital and Northern Beaches Hospital. He studied medicine at The University of Sydney and completed diagnostic radiology training at Royal North Shore Hospital. He then completed an Interventional Radiology Fellowship at The Royal Melbourne Hospital followed by a second Vascular Interventional Radiology Fellowship at Monash Health, Melbourne. Dr Logaraj is a Fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) and has European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR) certification.

Dr Logaraj is an expert in a wide variety of IR procedures ranging from biopsies to embolisation to lower limb revascularisation. His areas of interest include peripheral endovascular therapy (angioplasty / stenting / thrombectomy / thrombolysis / sclerotherapy), thoracic interventions (bronchial artery and pulmonary AVM embolisation), urological interventions (varicocele embolisation and prostate artery embolisation) and hepatobiliary interventions. He is also interested in cardiothoracic imaging and vascular imaging.
